It's time to put up the tree again, folks! Let me just go fetch it out of stora-
OH NO!!!
Dreadful news, friends!
Syndicate infiltrators have stolen our Spacemas decorations and are holding them to ransom!
Darn!
We could probably afford to buy 'em back but Nanotrasen are being as stingy as ever.
Oh well, I guess we'll just make some new ones! Again! For the 5th year in a row!
The Rules:
-Less than 16x16 pixels
-SS13/Spacemas related
-Not super dumb
-If you wanna animate it, make it 4 frames long exactly!
-Don't just take a sprite that already exists and shrink it down to 16x. Draw it yourself!
Thanks again to Aphtonites for hosting this tradition up until last year!

I'm not good at spriting, but I'll damn well try!
Also... It looks like the 2014/2015 tree is the exact same .-.

lmao.
Yeah I know, not spessman realted. I just made it to see the limitations of 16x16. I'll put together a small animation of something cute.
edit:
I'll animate em' later.

Despite their holiday grinchiness, the syndicates have sent us a single ornament from their personal collection. Hopefully it's not a bomb!

That's because it is. It was the first year I took over, so I didn't have enough time to redraw the whole tree.

I don't know yet! I'm gonna have to fiddle with that as we go.

I was thinking like, a RoBuddy but covered in wrapping paper
Oh also what's a good software to use for spriting?
[EDIT]
Here's a sprite I made in MSPaint since I'm at school and can't use anything else (also yes I don't have a transparent backround. Can't make that in paint)

Hah. I went buddy knowing there'd probably be a few. The more buddies, the merrier the spacemas.
As for editors...
GIMP? It's just a good thing to have.
You could also use an online app like
piskel or
pixlr if you want something light.

Is MS paint a viable tool for ornament crafting?
I mean it, though. I won't be able to cut out the white borders without other sources, but the ornament proper should come out alright.

Never done anything like this before and I hope it's useable.
Merry Spacemas to all.

I'm happy to cut out the white backgrounds if you aren't using a program that supports transparency.
