It's more of a morally grey button, really. Of course, the dog becoming void is certainly bad for the current instance of Dog, which is now doomed. But now you have a new and glorious opportunity: for what is a void Dog but an empty Dog vessel with no value, no meaning, no purpose? Perhaps the Dog might be assigned new value, such that the dog is reborn as more than simply Dog, trancending it's appearance when cast in a new light.
