Will the solarium GOOD ending ever be cleared?

Hi, please don't bomb genetics either.

DON'T FUCKIN BOMB ANYBODY
If a department is being shit leave it to the admins, don't take it upon yourself to ruin people's fun/function and make a horrible air vortex

I'm someone who likes to explore and enjoy these sorts of things at my own pace. Unfortunately the current system causes a lot of problems for people like me:
  • This hasn't been as much of a problem recently, but most Sol nerds will want to rush through everything since they have it down to a science. The fact that people pride themselves in how fast they can get an ending is enough evidence of this. Good luck trying to have fun and learn anything when they are around. I was once bullied off the extended server when I was exploring an area for the first time because the amount of keys I had (none) wasn't enough to satisfy the guy calling the shuttle and yanking the cell out of telesci/mainframe so he could do a sol run his way.
  • There are some people who will do anything in their power to work against telescience as soon as word leaks that someone is doing something. There is not really any good reason for them to do this besides the reputation made by the people I described in the last bullet point and to say "heh fuck nerds". It's questionable whether to adminhelp most of this behavior because of the reputation that sol nerdery has.
  • It's nearly impossible to find like-minded people who want to have fun and explore, who are competent enough at the game to not jump in lava, but also NOT completely knowledgeable in everything sol-related already. Once you do get a group together, all it takes is one person doing one thing wrong and everything needs to be reset. I know that's the name of the game, but still.
  • I will probably never contribute anything of note because the sol nerds have already scrubbed through every freaking nook and cranny possible by the time I get to it, especially since anything new is kept in tight lockdown so whoever found it can get all the glory. There's also the fact that I was never part of the "original sol crew" which means in-game things have changed in response to them, memories have been made, etc. that I will never be a part of.

Welp, that excludes me. No really, I've fallen into lava the last three times I've been to lavamoon. :downsgun:

I still say that bike-horns are the key to the next puzzle.

Though in all seriousness, I've never really invested in Solarium because of the sheer amount of stuff that needs to be taught, as oppose to learned through experience. Almost everything is already known, per se, about each of the areas. Heck, you can't even reach most of the telesci areas without someone telling you how.

Really? Almost all of them are on the GPS units.

But yeah, it's tradition to teach people and that really is one of the best parts of the whole 'solarium' puzzle.

The fun part is "dying" in front of newbies with the "murderghost".

On LLJK1, telesci/Sol folks are pretty much the only people who I simply don't enjoy playing with. Why?
  • Almost 100% of the time the Captain and/or HoP are the main instigators. Want something that only they can do? Good luck getting them back from the biodome - if they respond at all to radio comms (many don't) they simply don't care. The way they "fix" this is giving anyone who asks for all it all-access whenever they're actually on the ship and then letting them deal with it.
  • As soon as one of the group has all-access, the rest have all-access. A random scientist who's not on the ship most of the (multiple hour) round should not have all-access when neither the MD or CE have it, surely? It's an RP server, as light as that RP is, and I've had all-access refused as MD because "y do u need it" (verbatim quote), despite explaining that with both the Captain and HoP off-ship we can't do what we need to to keep things running smoothly. This, when they gave their Sol-buddies all-access so they can get phasers or whatever.
  • As AI, I've seen the "captain" immediately say to pretty much the first person they come across in the round "I'm doing telesci, you're the captain now", hand out all-access, then bitch when later on in the round they're being over-ruled and having their resignation quoted to them, to the point of them waltzing into the core and using the MakeCaptain to get their "authority" back. The only reason they want this is to be able to override shuttle calls. Like, come on...
  • I've seen them loot random APCs near telescience (CE's office, janitor's office, mechanic's office) for an already charged power cell. I mean, I don't really care if you replace it with an empty one that simply means it's out of action for a minute while it charges up, but I've literally had them leave the APC empty and just go back to telesciencing. I've witnessed them purchase no less than four security crates despite there being only two people doing things. You do not need that many phasers, just stop.
90% of my issues could be resolved by one simple thing: you want to do telescience? Do it as a scientist, not a captain. If you're the captain (someone has to be) and you hand off your authority because you don't want any responsibility, don't bitch if people want to call the shuttle because the engineers have done their job too well and now the aft half of the ship is uninhabitable due to rampaging fires.

I've started adminhelping folks who hold the shuttle hostage. I've witnessed the captain come back from telesci because the shuttle was called due to casualties (literally all of the crew), realise that most of the ship is a firey mess, work their way up to their office (very front of the ship) via the relative safety of space, recall the shuttle, then go right back to telesci. That's an extreme case, but it gives you an idea of the ridiculousness I've seen that gives reasonably legitimate telesci crews a terrible reputation.

Despite this, I still don't think they should get their own server. It's one of the many parts of the game that needs to be learned over multiple rounds, why should their particular niche get it when many others don't (e.g. packet-sniffing)?

part of the reason I think people metagrife is they don't realize that many roles can get all the same stuff a big-deal role does
they just want the high access as lubricant for their schemes

in defense of buying a lot of phasers you get about 8 shots with one phaser, there are few rechargers in a telescience zone, and if there are enemies there are almost CERTAINLY more than 8 enemies and as soon as you stop shooting you're fucking dead (see: wendigos)

Here is another hint:

I'd suggest looking at and comparing this with the current centcomm.

It's purple. Is purple the hint?

It just means you need to send a bug report (under exploits) and not do it again. Sharing said exploits is bad, though, which is why I can't go too deep into explanations until they're patched up.
Yes, I did, so thank you for clarifying. I am still doing the computers, but stick to a private server, considering the sullied public opinion on the 'tele-nerds'. I know I will crash the server, eventually, but I'll never know what causes it until I cause it (and then several times again just to be sure it is that particular thing). But I do know people will be very mad if I do it consistently, even if it is by accident.

True, but not How To work it. You can get some very nice power-output beyond that of a default set-up if you just tweak things a bit. . The code even shows that the engine can run just as well in reverse (with a hot cold-loop and a cold hot-loop), but nobody ever even tries to do that. I feel a lot of the potential of this device is lost because of the 'hellburn of gtfo'-mindset.
...
Get it? Potential? As in Voltage?
HONK!

that is why you clear the easier adventure zones first to get those sweet guns

also i think i figured out what the vault is
