Department Specific ID Computers
#1
Add department specific id computers so that the head of a department can grant/remove access for that department.
For example an MD could change access involving medbay, a CE could grant access to APCs, an RD could give access to telescience.

My initial take on the idea was "Gee, wish I could fire that jerk.", however granting heads this ability could make job shortages less annoying. Furthermore HoP is not a real job. Fight me Grimm and frostbitten

EDIT: posted my patch here (includes new id computers and a fire employee button), thanks for the suggestions!

Sounds good, heads are supposed to be responsible enough, both roleplay wise and actual gameplay-wise, to be able to directly have this ability without the need to rely on the HoP.

The HoP can still do that, and have a broader purpose.

HoP is the Head Staff Assistant, with all access and a potential E Gun army if he's quick

A good HoP can do that and steal all the station's funds if his fast enough.

Aye. Makes the civilian sector a bit weird though, with it's head being the HoP.

I usually buy some guns from Cargo (Can't have too many, that's what the device scanner is for) and get my genes scanned before Stealing borrowing money from the station

Looking at the goon code it seems easy enough to make head specific computers (based on the goon2016-leak).
The questions I have in mind are:
  • Where do these computers go?
  • What access can each head edit?
  • Is the current id terminal UI sufficent?
For the first question each computer ought to belong in the relevant dept close to the main entrance, but I'm unsure of an exact spot. Maybe the head's office?
Secondly, I have a general idea of access but probably needs tweaking. For instance should a CE give out maint access since many of the apcs/smes are in maint areas?
Question tres is something I thought up after taking a moment to inspect the current ui. It gets the job done but feels clunky

I went and implemented a prototype since nobody responded.
Haven't fixed the id colour bit and I've been thinking the department computers should only change access whereas the HoPs can do that and change ID names. Also I took the liberty of changing the blue/red colour to green/red.

*Side note: I had the idea of adding a "FIRE" button, which when used removes all access from the target id, announces to the station that "X was fired for Y", and removes them from the manifest/payroll. Might be an thought for the future.

How about it demotes them to staff assistant (And possibly spitting out a staff assistant's uniform for them) Would be neat to see a grey tide every now and again

Adam Nehaldo was fired for filling the cloning vat with meth.  Again.

I've finishing adding the department specific computers and now I feel like adding the fire button after all. Although I wouldn't mind some input on the particulars.
Does it sound unreasonable if you could fire anyone from any of the id computers (granted you have got their id)? My logic is if someone already got hold of an id they could of simply disposed of it, but the fire button is more like public shaming.

Only remove specific access related to the department the computer is used for
