Best case, the AI asks every living thing if they are Gordon Sideiron, and then exterminates them only if they say no, since without concrete proof that they aren't Gordon Sideiron, they might actually be Gordon Sideiron in disguise! Worst case, the AI murders Gordon because everyllone isn't a word, or because "that" implies an object and Gordon is a "who", or because the law makes no sense and fuck this guy uploading garbage to my computer, and so on. And without any secrecy or immediacy clause, the AI can announce all of this to the crew and then get to doing its job when it gets around to it.

The way I interpreted it is that while he and everyone else isnt human (Does an override-all law undefine what human means, or just make silicons not care what humans are?), technically the law does tell the AI to kill everything other than Gordon Sideiron, which implies not to kill anything designated as Gordon Sideiron. Kinda like saying "Kill all bees that arent Heisenbee." Or rather it would if it were spelled correctly. Course, telling the AI to kill everything that isnt you when you yourself dont have any special legal protection is a bad idea in general, especially if the AI doesn't like you.

Override-all-laws means that only that particular law is in effect. The AI can do whatever it wants, as long as it follows that particular law.

Because of the use of "override" Law 1 is no longer in effect, so even as the only person they don't explicitly have to kill there's nothing stopping them from killing you if they feel like it (Law 2 no longer in effect, so they don't have to listen to you, and Law 3 no longer in effect, so they can take risks to themselves in order to harm you). Regarding your "which implies not to kill ...", sure. It doesn't say "don't kill Gordon Sideiron/Heisenbee", though, and now you've overriden the other laws it can do what it likes as long as it also kills all non-Gordon Sideirons. If that last bit had been excluded the desired effect would have been achieved (kill all non-Gordon Sideirons, Gordon Sideiron is the only human, Gordon Sideiron is the captain, don't harm humans, follow orders by humans). |
