I remember when Catmandu was first (accidentally?) introduced and could be accessed through standard teleporters, I kidnapped every single pet on the station in order to try and get them to open the old wall in the alley.
I was literally trapping Morty, Heisenbee and the like in fridges and boxes and punting them into the Catmandu teleporter so they could be rubbed against the wall to no effect. I felt like a champ, even though what I was doing ended up being useless.

Good news everybody!
We know how to open the gunked up door!
You need to use the wirecutters on the garland to get a stringy hairball, get the other two hairballs and add them to the stringy hairball to make an assembly, secure said assembly with a screwdriver to make a key, then use it on the door.

It was horribly radioactive.
Many good spacemen were lost this day.

Well, jamming wirecutters down a cats throat may have caused some karmic retribution.
Cats are big on karma, I hear.

But hey we found an emitter there and that is always fun. Now what to do with this emitter is the question. Did anyone try activating it in catmandu?

More important question: has anyone activated the emitter at all? I saw somebody try a full toolbelt on it and they just whacked it.
EDIT: It's not a regular emitter, either. It's one of those weird machine-type objects.

Havint we learned by now not to rush into something in the adventure Zone without crazy amounts of preparation just remember the admins are cruel and fickle beings that like to add death at every corner so if something looks benign it's probably going to kill you so always wear your armored space suits.

Maybe we need to put telecrystals in it or something like that?

Where are the hairballs?
Edit: Nevermind, we found them. Also we found some radioactive pellets, they may be what you need to power the emitter.
Double Edit: The radioactive pellets dont work on it.

I think the emitter is unfinished as you can walk over it. It could even be the science laser emitter thing that was supposed to be added to science at the beginning of Cog2's release. If you go into mars in the public release of GoonStation, you can mess around with the science laser there as its unfinished and you can walk over it. The solarium ending wont be finished until the coders add more content, or the solarium ending is that, just a never ending train ride to keep us satisfied. There might even be more hidden locations that we haven't found yet. Who knows?

The emitters sprite is one of the ones that gets used for a lot of the atmospheric fake machinery that's scattered throughout the game, i wouldn't put too much hope into it being an actual machine this time.

Well there's always the unfinished half the mars outpost and it's - what seems to me to be a - nuclear bunker, so we definitely know that that's a thing

it's basically the thing telescience used to have sitting next to the long range teleporter, with another description/name.
