As requested here, I've decreased the alch_strength of all bartender drinks across the board and lowered the depletion rate of alcohol to match. I've also decreased the thresholds for drunkenness symptoms. As a result, people can drink at the bar without getting utterly shitfaced, but what they do drink stays with them longer unless they get some lime-aid to flush it out. Some benchmarks include:
15 ethanol is the threshold for noticeable drunkenness - slurring, stumbling, grumbling, etc
55 ethanol is the threshold for puking
60 ethanol is the threshold for toxin damage and passing out
One sip of beer (5u) turns into 0.35 ethanol over the course of 100 ticks, or roughly a minute. An entire glass (50u) should keep you very lightly buzzed (not enough to slur or stumble) for about a quarter of the round (10 minutes on my test server, but likely longer with lag on the real server). It takes 15 before you become visibly drunk. It's really watered down beer, OK?
A shot of vodka (5u) turns into 2.5 ethanol over the course of 10 ticks. A glass of vodka (50u) turns into 25 ethanol over the course of 100 ticks and will keep you drunkenly stumbling (but not dying of alcohol poisoning) for about 10 minutes.
A gin and tonic (50u) is not enough to get you stumbling around on its own, but if you chase it with a couple beers you'll be ready to crash your segway into the pool in no time.
A pour of traitor moonshine (10u) turns into 20 ethanol over the course of 10 ticks and keeps them drunk for 200 - just enough to get someone drunk and mug them for their ID or something. A tiny sip of moonshine (1u) like a traitor bartender intending to use it medicinally would prepare turns into 2u ethanol and 10 omnizine - enough that they stay buzzed while healing with it, but not enough that they start stumbling around with their c-saber.
A hit of Bo Jacks (10u) will put 7.5u alcohol in your system immediately and (assuming its not too manly for you) another 2.5 over the course of the next few minutes. Two will get you drunk and drinking the entire bottle will leave the you passed out in your office in a pool of vomit. Or dead.
Sleepy Pens full of alcohol are still mostly non-lethal but now much more hilarious. Vodka will get someone drunk for 10 minutes, as will gin or bitters. Bo Jacks would get you drunk quicker, but it would also make you puke immediately so the net amount of alcohol is a bit less. Moonshine will disable someone if they don't get lime-aid though: it turns into 100u ethanol in 50 ticks, which will leave them passed out and dying of alcohol in a little under twice as long as it takes for a changeling sting to kick in.
1u of Grog or Dragon's Breath turns into 5u ethanol. Do not chug. It's also lethal in a sleepy pen, but honestly if you have 50u of Grog or Dragon's Breath, you could have already made enough sarin to kill everyone on the station twice over.
