I got the idea based on an exploit reported in bug reports.
Basically let someone with a screw driver and omnitool hack the shuttle timer.
Three to four wires, each with a different effect.
Some possible effects
One might cause electricity to jump out of the console like an APC, but is otherwise "harmless" and has no effect on the shuttle timer. This one would probably just make people go as far to the back of the shuttle as possible and maybe bolt the door shut.
One will adjust the shuttle timer to 10 seconds.
One will trigger a game over message where the shuttle veers off course.
Maybe for an additional option, a wire that actually causes the timer to go longer, just out of spite to whomever wants to hack the shuttle to go faster.
Hacking these wires should be a one shot deal.
Basically make trying to hack the shuttle be a high risk high reward thing, where only someone brave, malicious, or stupid does it and it can cause the ire of the crew if nobody wins because you zapped the wrong wire. Or because they have to wait an additional 2 minutes because you played a flawed game of ennie minnie miney moe.
tl;dr add shuttle hacking if you want to watch someone gamble with people's lives and or sanity in return for a faster cruise home. 50/50 chance this ends with someone wanting to prolong the shuttle so they can have a shuttle boxing ring while ghosts cheer on.
