What's with the greytide lately?

Quote:I was "messing with him and getting in his grill" at the same time as I was "not doing anything and lurking I'm a corner"
Not at the same time. Majority of the former. The latter was just you peeking in the corner to see if you could cause some havoc every time you came back, saying (read: SAYING, not doing) absolutely nothing.
Quote:Then the swedium I found on the floor was released both before and after he shot me.
It was after I shot you. There is no confusion. You activated it as some sort of shitcurity shield
Quote:Then I somehow said I didn't do that even though there is mysteriously no record of me saying that.
Quote:The Swedium was just something I found on the floor that seemed chef-related. I figured a traitor would kill me but show up speaking Swedish at least
So you essentially found a floor pill and crushed it up into a beaker. You just happen to leave out it had a massive amount of LSD which is extremely disorientating.
Quote:Then I accused him of powergaming even though there's no record of me saying that.
In everything but literally saying it.

It's pretty terrible on both sides of the equation, to be honest. Security officers stunning people and dragging them off for meaningless offenses while those people are in critical condition, crewmembers blocking off security with owls, security killing people "by accident" (cuffing them in depressurized areas without internals or stunning them on conveyor belts), crewmembers making the floor slippery for security, security installing flashers in highly-populated areas and stunning anyone who tries to escape, fueltank bombings of security by rabble-rousers, etc. etc. Psyduck head explosion

Agreed pizzatiger, apologies for completely derailing the thread. I didn't need to explain my story 3 times.

Unfortunately with the influx of grey tide, there will be officers who misbehave terribly as a result. This may be reactionary or my gut feeling it could be a player who chose to be an officer to instigate bad behavior.
My suggestion is to adminhelp as much as you can. I can also speak for all Hos's here that if you feel like there is a bad security in the bunch, please PDA message us with the details. I always carry my PDA around for people who wish to speak to me privately, and I know for a fact alot of HoS's do the same.

I agree wholeheartedly with Sundance. This is going to get worse before it gets better, we all need to try to work together with each other as well as with the admins. While at the same time trying our best at keeping out cool so we don't make things worse in the process. For the most part all HOS's carry their PDAs on them so don't hesitate to tell us when a officer is being a nerd or call for help. Everyone don't be afraid to adminhelp. Be it a shit security officer or if you feel like a HOS is taking things. Just because they don't reply back to you does not mean they don't see it, and they don't mind you adminhelping you either. Teamwork makes the dream work.

I've noticed this turn down a bit lately. things are cooling down between sec and the crew a bit, most of the fighting seems to be internal between officers arguing on how to handle tasks

I think the solution is to stop arguing. regardless of your differences, do what the hos says and follow his orders unless they are outright stupid (in such case, don't argue with him, but adminhelp for advice on how to handle the situation)

on our side of the equation, I think heads of security should stop taking sides in these arguments. issue the orders you think are right without making it out to be "his opinion is more valid". remain neutral, say that this is your choice based on your personal assessment of the situation, and that your judgement is not you awarding anyone some sort of the victory.

to the crew: take security's lead on this. if they are arresting for minor crimes, try doing more minor (non grief) crimes to give them more opportunities to have fun doing that. if they're ignoring everything that isn't an antagonist, follow up on that by leaving them alone.

this is a social game. I'm starting to think that there's not one answer to any given situation, and that it's really up to the players to learn to read each other and try to respect the fact that it's a game, and games are meant to be fun for everyone

The first round I played today was as a security officers and there was a riot as soon as eight minutes in. Which we all to deal with all round.

If this was the round with Geoff and me as the HoSes I think that was people just trying to give me a hard time.

A riot is a riot in my eyes.

The filling the brig visitation area (The area above security) with owls was probably me, and I made sure not to block either door even if it was a tight fit. Plus I only did that one round and never repeated it. I also stole the justice owl and moved it to the fitness room so it could hoot at wrestlers. I never stepped foot inside security with owls though.

if security was inconvenienced by that I'm sorry, but I didn't think having a few extra owls jammed into one spot and wrenched down would be that big of an issue.

I've never seen any of those other things though.

I've been having quite a bit of fun lately just hanging out in security, then batonning the idiots who use their all access IDs to try to loot the sec lockers and then throwing them out without that all access ID. The rage it generates is just amazing.
