Funny, since they pretty much posted an update today http://playstarbound.com/
I guess the real problem is they forgot how to update steam.

If you want to see the WIP version of starbound (nightlys) you have to set it in the steam launcher options. or you can wait for the next official update. Which'll be awesome and becoming much sooner. Can't wait for progress on the remake though. it looks to be good so far. Built in replays would be cool.

Reading a starbound blog post by supernorn is always nice by the way. He does some great sprite work.

Maybe it won't be long before it's stable enough to be hosted from spacestation13.com

Well, rip mostly, but with the source code coming the remake should continue to live on, but not the same as it was.

That's all.

It'd be cool if coders and artists from different servers worked on this to make it a thing. If every server put in a little time every now and then to working on the code, good things could happen.

As far as I know that's happening. At least I know volundr is working on it with coders from other branches.

I assume it's tg working on it now but I don't know for sure.

The IRC channel at spacebus is your best bet for more info. They have a piratepad with info on what works and doesn't work, and what's being worked on.

Would we have farts and vuvuzelas on every server?

They're working on making the standalone code not poo right now.

I've already managed to get it to compile on windows and farts are in (sans gross fart noise), vuvuzellas wouldn't be hard to add if you know how their sprite renderer works and you can get people to agree on a vuvuzela sprite in #spaceart

Are spriters needed at this time? I contributed one for here, and I like doing sprites.

A4Brogan:

They have spriters, but if you're looking to contribute All the spriting info is at irc://irc.rizon.net/spaceart

Kiwi IRC Webchat If you don't already have an IRC client of choice.

Check the art perspective thread linked on the pirate pad for info on things like walls and floors. e.g What direction the spaceman should see.

They have stuff that's done at http://piratepad.net/rB2bjgijc9, but if you post sprites there save the revision. If you want feedback Spaceart IRC is the best place to go.

Spacestation 14 SFML port now finished

https://github.com/space-wizards/space- ... -14/pull/8

the tl;dr of it is that the game now probably "runs" on windows, mac, and linux. All Aboard the Bandwagon
