I think it would be cool to have a disease that you could easily tell who is infected (blue spots and all...) so the crew could panic properly and ostracize the infected.
From the infected point of view this could be pretty funny chasing around the crew threatening to spread it (so long as the effects are only cosmetic), all the charms of chasing around your little sister with a freshly picked booger on your finger.

Liver Failure: Lowers toxin purge rate, mild toxin damage, random pain messages, blood vomit, brute damage raises exponentially at later stages (Transmission, excessive ethanol/drug consumption), cure: Calomel/cryoxidone.

I kinda agree, given that I think pathology might leave a few heads scratching, especially if the symptoms are out there enough that people are enjoying a challenge.

On the other hand, having a good subset of known illnesses that doctors will know how to cure isn't really a bad thing.

I'm more interested in what crazy symptoms the admins have in mind though. Like internal combustion, or limbs randomly falling off like some kind of flesh eating virus.
