Jean-Luc_Picard Wrote:The Detectives new office is also easy as pie to break into, all you need is minimal access to get into the maintenance below, and a simple UN-reinforced wall is all that stops you from being inside.
But the same has been true for the old Detective's office, where there was a standard wall accessible from the maintenance tunnel to the north.

But before you had Security right next to you, so at least there's a chance they'll get caught, or think twice before breaking in...

I've played about 10 rounds today and every single one I've seen the Detectives room broken into, no word of a lie.

yeah uhh what would be the point of that door if there was a button in the room that a suspect could use to open it back up

a neat gif though

e: a sec door to get back out is a decent idea though, since the one to the left doesn't have a path back into sec that officers would have access to, hm

Is it not possible to just limit who can press the door button ?

The Way I see it is this.

The whole South East part of Security / The NEVER used "court" area is completely useless.

Now I'm all for flavor, and having the option to have this "court" area as it makes the station look "nice" and more detailed.

The point of this post is to almost add onto my Detectives room post.

Why have all this space for this Court which is NEVER used and the Delivery maintenance and delivery door that is also never really used.

If I could make my own modified security and upload it for you guys to walk around in (Only modifying the highlighted part)

I guarantee you would say yes to it.

This modified security area would include.. Yes you guessed it, the Detectives office!

This modified security area would also include a Detectives "meeting" or "library" room. *

* A room both the general public and the Detective have access to for civilians to come to the Detective with "MYSTERIES" or to report crime for the Detective to investigate.

I would also have the Interrogation moved to the Detectives "area" as Security very rarely interrogate and if they do It's not done in the room, having it part of this "detectives" area would entice the Detective to use it.

After seeing what Haine is capable of when it comes to a flavorsome medical waiting room, I have no doubt he would make a really nice looking Detectives office, study and a more classically styled interrogation room.

your solution to sec having areas that aren't used is to... add more areas that will never be used?

The Interrogation room as is isn't used because Inspectors and Detectives interrogate, not security officers.

and the adding of a Detectives lounge or what ever you'd like to call it would be used.
The very fact it would be accessible by anyone, with or without ID means it would be.

The courtroom is also public access (for the most part) and as you said, it's never used

The court room is different, the server's role-play is far too minimal to even need one.

The court room, if it can even be called that is also quite secluded, in the way that It's part of a very low traffic area.

The Detectives lounge would be connected onto the main hallway.

PS. Please don't false quote me.

I sort of imagine that the brig cargo room is a escape route for crimers insane enough to try it, and a way to break in for crimers insane enough to try it.

If you can outfit yourself with a space suit, it's a comparatively easy way to break into the brig and then from there get into sec. Without getting caught by most sec officers.

It also works for delivering weapons/other gear to sec without having it be stolen or otherwise messed with.
