i like the idea of chopping apart and tearing up dead crewmembers for the reclaimer, means there's some more work going into it, and opens a spot for a dedicated surgeon that just takes apart bodies after they've been stripped

Someone, that takes care of dead bodies, handles and prepares them...

...Like a mortician?

Honestly on slow doctor or even roboticist rounds I always love to run the morgue and process bodies instead of mulching them instantly. I have no strong feelings either way but it might be neat to try!

Maybe make it so medical 'can' put a human body in. But, only after they chop it to pieces first? Ie: cut off all limbs and head.

I think your idea is great. As it would get more other departments involved. But this would allow medical to dispose of bodies in the event those other departments don't 'want' to get involved.

My hope would be "inconvenient enough you try to handle the body properly first. While still being a option if you just Really REALLY need to grind the body and don't want to just flush it in the trash"
