""rebind"" stop drop and roll
#1
so, burning in combat is essentially a HUGE penalty, especially if you're running the Human Torch trait.
why? blocking, buckling into chairs (the fast way, at least), and literally EVERY OTHER RESIST-BASED ACTION is overridden by burning in such a way that trying to defend yourself makes you go prone and drop everything in your hands, even if you're taking no damage because of genes or heavy firesuits
how to fix? make it so you roll only if you're already prone, leaving it to be a bit less of a complete handicap. sure you still can't block while prone, but it's better than completely disabling it because you're on fire.

I mean, that seems... like a good thing? Getting fire resistance keeps you from taking burn damage, which is good, but being actively on fire should still be something you want to avoid.

well yeah, but even at 100% fire res it's a huge hassle. i get that fire is and shall always remain a big penalty, but literally removing blocking for being on fire seems overkill

Gonna have to agree, it's a feature. Lighting someone on fire should be a good way to break through their defense of blocking & limit their ability to chair dive, etc

I think theres a case against it for human torch, but personally I think human torch should be nerfed where you still take some damage, or at least your gear could burn off, giving you a reason to still want to put out the fire. I don't think you should ever be able to get full immunity from fire damage/remove all negatives from it

i rather like the balance of being unable to block while on fire. it means that nukie knights actually have a 2nd weakness rather than just grenades

well the fire res and thermal res genes do far less fire resistance now as far as im aware so unless you also have protective gear on with it empowered it'll probably still hurt. It's pretty reasonable to have putting out the active fire to be a higher priority than chair buckling.
