You know, like Bowser in Super Mario Bros. DS.
Wouldn't work with skeletons.
I swear this is a good idea.

Give players a 1% chance to survive falling in lava and return as skeleton.

i get it's funny and all, but in games like these, i don't really like the "1% chance to X" mechanics that pretty much either have such a low chance on such a niche requirement that it almost never happens or it just becomes annoying when rng decides to get in the way of whatever you want to do, especially if it's reviving someone as a rare chance
in short, i don't like extremely small chance events in games like these because they either never happen or get in the way when they do, given it's reviving a person from a scenario that would expect a guaranteed death, not 1% chance to live and rat out whoever threw you in

I think the idea is rad, but also that "Rare chance" concept can be appropriately achieved by "make a prayer to this effect and hope an admin agrees/is about/feels like it." most of the time it won't work, and you can't bank on it. You can't just spam the idea because spamming prayers is an exceptionally reckless thing to try, and if an admin's feeling generous, you'll probably get some drama out of it for the round too. It means it's a narrative thing too, not just someone spending their time being cloned/running for lava/being cloned and then getting it, before just standing around going "look at me isn't this cool pet the terminator"
Now, making a more generalised system where heavily augmented people (say someone with full robo organs/limbs) having some kind of "Fully cyberized" extra like a fully synthetic skeletal system that *then* works as the original idea describes could be cool too. Give robotics something else to do, requiring a full set means its a fair bit of commitment to being under the knife so its not that common, and occasionally seeing some guy get up from an acid attack/lava fall/plasma fire as a goddamn terminator is cool. |
