Ideas of questionable quality

This is not questionable quality this is a straight-up good idea

Let latejoins see if HOS is filled or not. Normally, if a job is missing from the latejoin list, you know it must be full up. However, since most people don't have HOS, it doesn't appear to begin with. This means that "Security Officer - 0/5" becomes a horrifying gamble between the jackpot of joining under a HOS and being able to help out with duties, or the ultimate flop of becoming the only security 30 minutes into a round full of foaming-at-the-mouth psychopaths and otherworldly abominations.

Having other teammates to help you out is a huge part of sec, and despite that they have the most obscured relevant latejoin info out of any job. Letting folks see if there's a HOS would only be healthy for sec.

(This is in questionable quality because i have no idea if this is even remotely coding-practical or would cause any metagaming issues I'm just not thinking of)

Let mentors respawn as a purple mouse ghost critter than you can pick up and put in your pocket to get advice.

Can speak to humans normally but only when in their pocket. Other humans can't hear them.

Abuse of this feature would obviously be a big no no, but shouldn't be a concern for people already trusted to be mentors.

Job ideas: Cryptid and Cryptid Hunter

The Cryptid is a player that spawns as a rare (but non antaganonistic) creature such as mothman, bigfoot, creature from the black lagoon etc.

The Cryptid hunter is there to take pictures of the Cryptid and prove that they exist. They start off with a camera and can sell the pictures they take for cash.

Had though of something similar : mentorsuggest
As a ghost, use this verb on someone you see struggling trying to do something, and it makes the "Tip : Press F3 to ask questions to our mentors" or whatever the message is appear to that player.
Quite a few times I'd have liked to have such an option while witnessing players not finding how to use this or that item and giving up while mentorhelp is here.
It's still up to the player to actually go and ask a question.

Actually not very similar but yeah it made me write the idea down.

If the voltron is a device that can (examine text) turn matter into energy and back, our NT scientist should be able to alter the process to be able to convert energy into matter.
So, some unsafe looking ghetto device you make using materials in which you insert a voltron, that you fire the PTL into and that spits out materials.
Generated materials are random but depend on the PTL output, same for the interval between the production of ores.
For instance it may spit a few units of coal one by one fast or it could wait a few seconds to spit erebite at high power.
It might even sometimes generate sparks at high power.

Let us build augmented versions of critters for powerful murder machines fun.

IV poles should be able to set the rate at which connected bags infuse their chemicals. Might lead to chemnerds making their godmode juice last all round by having it inject tiny amounts at a time... so the minimum rate would be somewhere around the highest normal depletion rate in the bag? Also the pole would slow you down (unless you ride it) so rampaging with it would be tricky and make you look dumb.

Maybe add an option to handcuff it to yourself so that you can insure it follows you? Might be good to keep unwilling patients well medicated as well.

Upon docking at Centcomm, there should be a small chance for a snippet of the largo from Bach's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra #5 to play, for the simple reason that the sound that currently plays bears an uncanny resemblance to its opening bars. The largo, in turn, is not a million miles off of the Beatles' Golden Slumbers, but that's another story.

While wearing the aviator hat and goggles you should make airplane noises when you walk.

You should be able to put empty bottles on your fingers and clink them like in the warriors, esp. during gang mode.

Fluke ops game mode. Extremely rare. Like nuke ops, but the only thing you can buy is a class crate and they're all ridiculous gimmick crates, like Clown, Luchador, Ninja, etc.

No matter the result the round always ends with a sad trombone.

*spit emote so that lowly janitors and the like can spit towards heads and sec officers in disdain

"Stinky Pete spits in Mouse Fitzgerald's general direction"

maybe if you spit while facing someone and being reasonably close to them you can land some spit on them in a random location like the eye the mouth the chest etc.
