Maybe we classify blob tiles as "station damage"
Maybe we consider removing blob as "repair"
Maybe this makes blob round less overwhelming.
Is a blob carbon or silicon even ?

No.
A blob is a carbon-based organism, and, outside of fiction, ghost drones aren't meant to interfere with living players' rounds in any significantly detrimental way.
And if someone starts trying to rules lawyer what I just said in future to me if I catch them doing this as ghost drones you are getting bans minimum.

Neurotoxin smoke more if you really want to handle blob.
Ghost drones have infinite lives. That does not bode well in any balancing sense.
This thread is kneejerky... possibly Wires fault.

only time i would say a ghost drone is allowed to remove blob tiles is the same instance i did it once (and got a ping and a note for it, which was fair enough). a blob which, based on radio chat, is 100% dead and it's corpse is blocking your way to a hull breach that must be repaired, so you have to make a path as directly as possible to fix it

This is something I've wondered about, because as a drone I've removed blob tiles that were blocking my path to fixing station damage. I only destroyed nonessential tiles as I didn't have the intention of impeding their progress, and couldn't if I even tried (They had absorbed about 40% of the station at that point.
I did feel weird about doing that, but it was the only way to get to where I wanted to go.
Maybe drones should be able to pass through blobs? They'd just fly right through it and then come out the other end all coated with slime

Slightly-related fix suggestion: Make it so killing all of a blob's nuclei will destroy all of that blob's tiles, rather than just tiles around that nucleus.

Considering Ghost Drones are a thing for players to continue playing in the round without interfering with it in any way beyond fixing the station...
Yeah, this would be bad.
Since everyone else already said this though this posts sheer existence serves no meaning.

Maybe if a blob dies, instead of needing to remove it, it just immediately collapses into a puddle of blob goo that the janitor can mop up?

Ooo, I like that idea now that we have the fluid system.

You should be able to scoop up the blob goo as a reagent and thicken it with some other thing like cornstarch to make fake/inert blobe that is easily destroyed. Hard to abuse since there would probably not be a blob goo source anywhere but dead blobs.
