Place Topic Title here. I've noticed how stupidly easy it is to miss the bright red text, despite being unique on its own (granted last time it happened was cause of a bug with the Aeye, but the one before wasn't, I just straight up missed it).

I think it should. It's something really important to AIs and Borgs and most of the time I killswitch them they never notice they are on a countdown to death.

yes. also friendly reminder that the only time you should killswitch is when ai/borgs are breaking their laws. always more beneficial to subvert, unless its a noob AI, in which case just dont touch it

killswitching the silicons is the most unfun thing to do and should gib the person who activates it as a price.

Yes, especially since you can't see the countdown in eye form.

The last time I was killswitched was rather justifiable honestly. I was subverted to kill all humans outside of a traitor and his mindslave and they had enough foresight to destroy anything that could have modified me further.
I definitely don't blame the crew for doing the only thing they could.

As Technature has said, killswitching is often the only option for scenarios where the antagonist
is enough of a funhating asshole has the foresight to destroy all AI modules and the upload computer after subverting the AI, preventing them from being returned to normal laws under any circumstances. I made
a suggestion a while ago about alternate ways to reset the AI without the reset module or upload computer, which would make killswitching unnecessary.

Seems like the problem is that there is no alternative rather than killswitching being an okay thing to do just about ever.
A packet magic AI reset thing would fix all that and still allow you to force the ultimate sacrifice if you wanna be a lay-z-boi about it

Even as someone who plays AI often, I still think the killswitch is useful as an absolute last-ditch option, especially when dealing with a shit AI/borg who just straight-up refuses to listen to their laws, at which point resetting them wouldn't really do anything. Ideally admins would settle that but that's not always possible.
Yes to a big flashy alert though. Also mayyyyybe a little more time on the killswitch clock.

Maybe the killswitch should just eject the bot's brain. No sense punishing the entire crew (and whoever wants to replace the AI) for one shitler's asshattery.
Maybe even a chute in the foyer to deposit a new brain nice and quick-like.

Have them pop out into a little bots that can scoot around but not do anything except blow themselves up
