remove the ability of pods to enter the escape shuttle
#16
worst case scenario just strap a few corpses to chairs to block them from entering the shuttle, none of the small pods have enough health to survive a couple angry crewman beating them anyways.

I don't know, part of me kind of wants pods to have tank treads so they can travel the station freely.

Of course if you're going to try to block pods out of the escape shuttle, laziest way to do it would be to put a force field or floor tiles around the sides. Actually you could bring a meteor shield with you. That might work.

pods traversing the station would be hilarious
maybe limit their weapons when on station turfs so it's less abusable? hmm
either way it'd be nice if they weren't limited to the docking stations, less having to play ship tetris

An idea I saw in other threads was being able to modify the utility tractor with pod parts to make in-station vehicles that you can drive around in.

The only problem I had with em' laid with being able to get a pod in by parking it where the shuttle lands,
and mining drills being easy access and more-or-less instadeath.

Both issues have been taken care of I think, so I'm fine with it as it is. I mean it doesn't make sense, and that slightly bothers me, but it's not like the station is a bastion of reason; we practically run on impossible.

unrelated but the only thing i know of that lets you live through being hit by the shuttle is the industrial mining armour, and it still puts you into light crit

Wait, it's technically possible to survive being hit by the shuttle? I thought it was an instagib like what happens if you fall into the crusher.

ive survived shuttlegibbing with industrial armour, although somebody tested it just last round and died. its either been changed, or how far to the center of the shuttle you are effects the damage. i was on like the outermost tile and dude was in the middle basically

pods on shuttle tiles should take extra damage from melee weapons because fuck em

You can't crowbar open an occupied pod.

also the people who hate this idea and refuse to admit why are the same people who think it's cool that a pod can sail around in a shuttle and murder people with virtual impunity

it takes at most 15 hits with a good weapon to murder a pod, which means if ganged up on pods are easy targets

Except when it has mining or experimental armor, and lasers or disruptors, which pretty much instacrit people, and then you have the pod exploding which seems to harm the pilot far less than everything around it, then you have to take out the pilot themself, who will be in far better health than everyone else and probably has traitor equipment, and that's if you're not dealing with someone who detonates ttvs inside pods, for whom being on the shuttle itself would be the most effective.

this is just a thread of 'aaah a valid weapon is being used as a weapon by traitors to do traitor things, delete it and ban the traitors'

It should be pointed out that there are non-'laser everyone' reasons to bring a pod onto a shuttle, as rare as they are. Sometimes a pod is actually a decent defense against a hellfoaming scientist, sometimes you just want to bring the shiny gold pod you spent half the round building to Centcomm for a victory lap.

Also 'it's cool' is still a better argument than 'this annoys me, Berrik, a person who is upset by everything in existence up to and including the time of day'.
