but wouldnt they be able to just swap back? since they would be in the body with the mind swap power

no how it worked was it passively caused the person with the gene to swap everyone in the nearby vicinity's body and you couldnt control it

though in order to make things more fun, maybe have it effect the person with the gene too

I remember once on destiny someone managed to get this mutation, It changed me into a headless corpse that kept resurrecting. Really annoying, I prefer leaving it admin only as it is now

As a fun side note body swapping is also one of the portasci's random effects as me and Mr. Meeseeks the traitor detective learned the other day

My favourite switch caused by the Port-a-sci has been when I was in a cyborg shell as the AI with a changeling. I'm not entirely clear on whether you pick up the antag status in that case as well, and as the round was drawing to a close anyway I didn't rampage just to be on the safe side.

once body switched in the port-a-sci with a guy who had the ancient armour. we traded all our stuff but the armour was mine now

Hell no I had almost a dozen of my antag rounds ruined because of this mutation or just from admins fucking around with it.

If it was added to the game, You could add that weird restriction that Futurama had where you can't switch between two people who have already switched, which could result in some fun

Cue the mass suicide by people who lose their access or get swapped to a bad traits build character, or are just really attached to their own character, and the resulting shit round the living players who cant get their body back experience because of it.

Those geneticists who go around turning everyone into themselves are bad enough

I think I kept my changeling status, but I wasn't sure if I could still use my powers. I don't quite remember.

Traitor? No.

Wizard spell that forces a wizhat and robe onto the target, with a long cooldown? Hell yes.

Wizards need more confusing round-chaos-inducing shenanigans that don't kill.

Oh man. An area of effect spell that makes a puff of vision obscuring smoke and temporarily transforms everyone into looking like the wizard, name face and voice

Well, I was thinking "body swap but the body double gets a robe/hat so it's not a ridiculously powerful escape/so they can keep casting spells".

Having said that, I love your idea too.
