Genetic Combination Map
#76
So public request to Bane and/or Ian: Could you flip the greying of half the spreadsheet to the top side? It's driving my OCD crazy because the page always opens on the far left side, opposite to where most of the combos are.

Thanks.

If whoever ends up shuffling stuff shuffles all the n/a'd combos down too that would be great!

You can still eat things on the solarium, I have a screenshot of doing it earlier today. The sun, probably not, unless you have the genetics ability that cause you to randomly teleport.

It's probably to make the server edible. Supposedly if you do eat it the disaster round has meatstation walls and space is acid.

I'm pretty sure booster gene c + incindiary mitochondria gives you a giant fireball around you without setting you on fire.

I mean if you're standing still. If you move you still get set on fire.

Heads up: Giving yourself too many powers at once is now a Really Bad Idea.

You monster.

Does this refer to active or passive powers?

I disagree with that sentiment. the stability stat, at least in its current form, is WAY to punishing. sure you cant have someone with every booster gene and every power, but now you cant even have one booster gene and one power without mutating and taking damage, and I even tried just using cold and heat resist and it caused mutation. The idea is good but the nerf was too hard.

I haven't played with genetics now that this has been put into effect, but some way of preventing every single geneticist from becoming ice-bending, super-farting, spontaneously-combusting, telekinetic, object-eating, space-proof, laser-shooting assholes encourages one thing that's really important...

Sharing superpowers with non-geneticists! GASP!

With the ability to load themselves up with enough superpowers to be the entire X-Men at once, geneticists had no reason to put their shiny powers into other people when they could be looking for more powers to put into themselves. But now that they can't, they're forced into being a bit more generous.

That being said, however, perhaps some number tweaking might be necessary. Not even being able to have two mutations at once without mutating more and taking damage is...not good, and inhibits the whole thing perhaps a bit more than is necessary. A limit of...I dunno, two or three, maybe four mutations per person sounds good.

Five. Safely being able to have five mutations per person is a good number, and I'm not just saying that because it's one of my favorite numbers because when you double it you get ten, which is basically the best number ever.

//COUGH

ANYWAYS, five total mutations is a good balance. You get to be strong, but your name isn't Invincible McDemigod, atleast unless the person you're fighting isn't attacking you with shit you're resistant to. If they are, it's their own fault, ya dingus.
