Traitor, for example, is intentionally unbalanced, with a few crew members vs. the rest of the crew, but then traitor gear can flip it in the other direction to make it unfair for the crew. Changelings and Vampires suddenly take out people, who have no real hope of opposing, but still create conflict as the crew tries to weed out who's eating people. A skilled wizard can do horrible things to most of the station crew in less than 20 minutes, while a new wizard can trip and die in less than 5.

I suppose why I'm saying this is that imbalance can create interest. I always feel like a concern when making new gamemodes is, "But what if it gets tossed for being too broken? Too imbalanced?", but at this rate, I'd say just do it. The foundation looks good enough that we can (hopefully) correct any glaring issues along the way.
