This would have to be moderated somehow because it would get super annoying real fast because dickheads would keep pushing the button and spamming the AI with popups.

Maybe the button has a one minute cooldown, or the AI has a toggle to turn off notifications for door requests?

Make it like a call button for flight attendants where it can't be pressed  until the AI responds yay or nay. If the AI responds no, a 30 second cooldown is initiated. If the button is pressed back to back 3+ times the AI should be able to release a crowd dispersal grenade
