Technically you're not duplicating the blood, you're just moving the same amount of blood around to create bloodstains.

Also a scientist with a beaker of smoke powder can blanket the station in blood so I don't think one guy with a bucket slowly making a mess makes all that much difference in the grand scheme of things.
