What ways would you suggest, then? Prison breaks are great, but they shouldn't be able to be conducted in plain view.
Requesting backup to subdue a rowdy prisoner is unlikely to get you any response in a timely manner, assuming anybody listening cares or is alive. Flashbangs are easy enough to move out of range, or they dash out the door when you open it to throw, get beaned in the face point blank and now you're both stunned.
Basically: Security frequently feels stretched extremely thin, and having to subdue someone you've already caught is an obnoxious waste of time. Nobody gets madder than the non-antag who gets brigged because it's an ugly part of player culture to believe that sec's job is only to hunt traitors, when all manner of space crime is punishable under space law.
