magical ingredients should be refined from seemingly mundane ingredients, then combined in a cauldron or something witchy:
example: potion of ill fortune
ingredient: A weighted coin that thrice defied you
1) shave a regular coin into a weighted coin
2) flip the coin until it lands three times in a row on the wrong side
3) add to brew
ingredient: hair of a black cat four times crossed
1) paint a cat black
2) wait for the cat to switch places with you 4 times
3) pluck a hair from it using grab intent (will aggro)
4) add to brew
ingredient: shavings from under a ladder
1) stand directly south of a ladder and use a knife on it
2) add to brew
stir counterclockwise seven times with clown shoes
this is a brew of ill fortune:
the poisoned party is infected with that incurable disease "unlucky". all dice rolls are ones, random "bad" events always happen (like being tossed into a vending machine, or getting lit on fire from the port a sci, or being chosen by hostile mobs)
