It would be kinda cool if there was a gimmick role dedicated to just exploring zlevels for this kinda stuff.
Like a historian/researcher, who's supposed to be documenting the things they find to share with the rest of the crew.
Maybe they get less access than a scientist, but they can go leave the station in search of the next big discovery.
That might be a bit too rp for goonstation though.
It might get people to look at some of the extra stuff, like why is zombie hulk hogan on biodome (spoilers?), or why some of these other areas exist.
Basically a more fun version of the librarian from other servers.
