I was thinking the other day about how when it comes to available weaponry for security, the majority are either stun weapons (counterable by heavy drug use and/or super powers), are lethal, or are some hybrid of both (I.E. shotguns), with this in mind, I was thinking why not get another type of ammunition for the riot launcher, a relatively one trick weapon as is (useful for breaking a chain of combat and applying minor damage but not for much else).
So from this idea, what if we had a net or bola round for the riot launcher that had 1 ammunition charge (as with smoke rounds) but upon hitting a target, would slow them significantly, much like if someone is heavily injured. This would allow for a scenario like a 2v1 or greater to be changed more so in the favor of the gun wielder as now one of the two combatants is heavily slowed, although still a threat if armed with laser weaponry. It should take roughly 60-90 seconds to untangle yourself with resist, or a moment or two (much like handcuffs) for someone else to assist you, meaning if you have enough numbers this strategy is useless and the guy firing will get stabbed to death anyway. This would add another potential strategy to the pvp robustness meta that is SS13, making it so that there are more diverse possibilities for combat, and not really giving anyone an especially massive benefit, as this weapon cannot down someone on its own and certainly does not remove them from the fight fully.
So what do you guys think?
