As for destroying the engine, the problem with that is that it takes a real serious-business Toxins-built gas bomb to do appreciable damage to it, and why the hell would anyone waste it on a room that provides zero benefit to the station and is basically guaranteed to have nobody in it? If the engine's not running, it's more productive to just snip the solars, and if it is running then messing with valves or wiring gets you a lot more bang for your buck.
