I also agree. I almost always play as a mechanic and once I've gone and scanned/built a second teleport. I'm left to go off and find something else to do. letting me build my own gene manipulator would be a very interesting way to spend a little bit of time.

Although, would it be connected to the genetics lab? (i.e their current discoveries and funding towards research)
