Reason for application:

It's been a bit, and I've had a lot of time to think. I realize at this point that I was much too hasty in my earlier attempts, a very "gotta get there soon, before im left behind" mentality, and that was not a healthy way to think about all this, the break allowed me to realize this, even if it took awhile to see it. This time I am applying for this role because command and security are my two favorite departments to play, and I believe I'd really enjoy playing the role that merges both. I love the style that command can bring to departments, and command is really fun to play for me, I also love the security gameplay loop being different each round based on what happens, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the combat and scenarios i encounter.

Security experience (300 word minimum):

I have been playing security for several years at this point if i remember correctly. I don't have the math but goonhub lists secoff as my favorite job. I can handle arrests and have a good grasp on how long to time brig stays, when and when not to search, and when ticketing or fines are more appropriate, I have experience keeping security or myself updated. I have experience coordinating a security team if they get disorganized or wanted someone keeping tabs.

I have a good idea of when the antag has gone too far and played their part in the round to start going lethal, or when to lay back and avoid hounding anyone while i wait for them to crime. I know when the armory is useful, usually i call for its use when the station is under assault from armed forces, or when we need a specific tool to deal with something, when our tasers just won't cut it.

I have a good idea of who to be following regarding the chain of command, and when they are overstepping their authority, like how the RD can stop sec from searching their department, but not from searching places outside of it, as well as who can overrule them. in this case the HOS, HOP, and CAPTAIN could overrule thier authority on the matter.

While it's definitely not necessary to be good security, combat comes up a lot in the job and I feel i am pretty good at that as well. It's not specifically security experience but I got a good sense for handling more then one thing at once when i was playing captain a lot, and that has helped in security as well. I also know when it's a good idea to take a step back from the game and take a break, at the end of the day this is just a game and if i get stressed i should know when to call it quits.

Answer two or more of the following:

What advice would you give to other sec players?

Playing Security is as much about allowing things to happen as it is stopping things from happening, if a bit hasn't gotten off the ground yet and you have reason to give the benefit of the doubt, it may be a good idea to take a step back and wait for the time it crosses the line, like people getting hurt. This however doesn't mean you should ignore your job, if someone reports something about an antag you probably shouldn't claim about how you think that antag isn't real, as that can make the crew not trust you to do your job. For the most part just do what makes sense for your character and the job you are playing, but don't be afraid to let something cook for a moment if it looks like it's unfinished if you can fit it in a way that makes sense. this role is often a balancing act.

What game improvements or changes do you think would benefit security players?

I've been really wanting to see a proper casefile system added to secmate or in some other way, a nice convenient way to cataloged cases. Maybe not many people would use it but some people would.

Describe any differences in your playstyle when part of a full security team and when being the only security officer.

The main difference is I'm more hesitant to get into fights with antags, and don't talk on radios as much (if there is no one to hear it), due to lacking a team behind me.

Answer one or more of the following fun questions (because it's important for the HoS to be fun):

What's a security gimmick that you've ran or wanted to run?

I've been wanting to get into proper evidence collection lately, photo's, bullet casings, printouts in folders. I know it's hardly necessary due to how the game is structured but it feels really nice when it all comes together.

Previous bans (while this will not affect your application lying about it will): None
