RP STATION 13???

Space Station 13 is a role playing game. It is a game where you play a role. How much you do so and to what extent depends entirely upon you. I don't think anyone can say that playing a character specifically is therefore incorrect or unnecessary, but most people who play on Goonstation don't give it much thought themselves.

Too much RP is actually a bad thing. Take a look at Athena station for example. Then we have tryhard RPers on LLA and D2K5. I like that Goonstation is more laid back in that regard, but then again almost no RP happens most of the time anyway. Even then, when it does happen, it's mostly reserved to one-round gimmicks or something.
