That might be useful for surgeries because you won't need a medkit on hand to fix them up after you've stopped the bleeding or removed a bullet/implant/etc
In addition if the medical computer knows who is on the slab getting fixed, you could have it automatically update whether the person is dead, or if they had some kind of disease, or if they've been shot, etc.
