Genetic Combination Map
#61
[email protected] is mine. I had some fancy formatting ideas in mind that could jazz up the sheet and make it a bit more appealing to the eye, if desired.

It would be nice if it had a second sheet that contains a short description of what all the genetic mutations do.

Firstly, Bane, you've been added to the editor list. Don't fuck it up.

Secondly, Winkle, I've seen other spreadsheets with some mannerism of "when you hover your mouse over a certain cell, you get extra text" sort of thing, but I couldn't figure out how to do it and gave up. If anybody tells me how to do this, I'll happily incorporate more information about the genes in.

Thirdly, I GOT A FUCKING SPLINTER UNDER MY NAIL THIS MORNING AND IT HURTS LIKE A BITCH AAAAAAAAAA QQ

The only way I know of would be to use comments.

That said I was thinking for a possibly insane idea, set up the google spreadsheet as a backend (JSON maybe?) for a nice and prettier thing on goonhub. A second spreadsheet could probably be used to store the descriptions of all the genetics mutations in the same spots as the names.

I discovered a completely new gene called dimension shift.

Holy shit this is a silly power. The utility levels of the ability to faze out of existence when you're incapacitated by a traitor/ling/wendigo and wait until you can stand back up are astronomical.

Your contribution is indescribably appreciated.

whenever I find a new combination/new mutation I make sure to add it to the spreadsheet

Other note: Since the order doesn't matter in the slightest in regards to gene combinations, the bottom half of the divide of x's (now changed to gray blocks to increase visibility) should probably be grayed out as well. Cryokinesis + Glowy is no different than Glowy + Cryokinesis, for instance, and having two entries for every single gene combination on the map is kind of silly.

Apologies for the double post, but I thought I might as well share my updates to the sheet.

I've added notes for descriptions of all genetic superpowers (just mouse over them in the first column) as well as adding a note to the very upper-left corner giving a description of how the thing is organized. I've also added a secondary List Form sheet, which basically lists out all of the mutations in one column and what genetic combinations, if any, will result in them in the second column. This is for the convenience of those who want to quickly get Fire Breath or whatever but can't be assed to find the specific cell that says "Fire Breath" on the massive grid.

Phenomenal work Gygax. The spreadsheet looks great, and all the information included on the genes is awesome and a great contribution to the spreadsheet.

And about greying out the repeat combos, you have my permission to do so, so long as you double-check that all the combinations on the side that's getting removed are on the side that isn't. Wouldn't want any combos getting lost in the shift, eh?

Anyways, keep up the good work!

Added a few new combos. Some useless(ish), some revisions of incorrect combinations, and one quite pleasant.

You found telekenisis.

As one of the only meta-neural related combinations I didn't try.

Question, is Ossification a standard mutation or do you have to combine to get it? I saw it one round and haven't seen it since.

Standard, I believe.

I thought it was, found it once and haven't since. But it's also a combination (added it to the spreadsheet a few hours ago)
