ISaidNo Wrote:Oh right, i've put in a few genes just for fun that are only available through combination. Seeing you guys exploring the new system made me happy, so why not throw a few prizes in? keep hope alive

Could we get their names? smile

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT TO GENETIC-INCLINED FOLKS

Apparently telekenisis doesn't have a gene combo yet.

I'm just going to go scream in a pillow for a while.

Lots of stuff added by yours truly, check it out!

Could you possibly freeze the first row and column of the spreadsheet, please? Having to scroll up/left to check which row and column I'm on gets a bit irritating. :T

You are a gentleman and a scholar my friend. I had no idea you could do that! I've mended the spreadsheet to do this now.

Oh, is there some way to add stuff to it? I haven't been on in a few days (I mostly just play while I'm at work and I have stuff running), but I checked a number of combinations the other day (I don't remember them now, however) and it would be cool to be able to mark stuff off. I can PM you my email?

Of course! Just comment on the specific cell that corresponds to what you combine with the results of the combination and, after I run a check for accuracy, I add it to the spreadsheet.

For example, if you knew that combining alcohol resistance twice gave you dwarfism, and you wanted to add that to the spreadsheet, you would comment on the cell that intersected both alcohol columns, or C3 in this case, with just "Dwarfism".

It's that simple!

I dont think I made any combinations that involve more than one of the same gene? If they're combining to make something then that's a bug.

Holy shit that must be a massive bunch of bugs then because there are a /ton/ of double combinations, as you can easily see on the spreadsheet.

Yeah I noticed they were Xed out before, which was correct by intent but apparently not by function.
I'll be fixing the bug, sorry! But I will be adding more stuff to genetics as I think of it, so don't despair. Keep up the hard work. smile

Pls no ISaidNo, you'd be undoing so much work, and so many combinations! ;~;

Come on, fire breath was meant to be a secret one and it's fairly powerful, why would I make it so easily accessible as combining cough twice? I can't just let you do no work at all for the good stuff, you know.

Actually, it kind of sucks in comparison to boosted Immolate. To list the differences...

Fire Breath
-Longer cooldown than Immolate
-Less area covered with fire
-Only unlockable though gene combos
+Aimed more precisely
+Hotter fire (when boosted)
+Doesn't light you on fire (irrelevant if you have fire resistance, which, it's genetics, of course you have that)

Immolate
-Massive area burned when boosted (is a plus if you're an antag)
-Fire less hot than boosted fire breath
+Shorter cooldown
+AOE attack, basically guaranteed to hit
+Immidiately available, provided RNG isn't a shit

Fire breath really pales in comparison to immolate, both for rampages and general utility because of it's way longer cooldown, and it being generally harder to get because it requires combining shit to get it. If I were to make a suggestion, I would suggest giving it a way shorter cooldown, shorter than immolate's, to boost it's general utility.

Also, you need to bear in mind that Immolate has very little practical application whatsoever unless it's boosted, whereas Fire Breath can be used by anyone.
