Re-add Security modules, but make them more like mall-cops

I actually think giving the sec borg a useless cap gun that does nothing but make gunshot noises would be funny.

I like the idea of them as purely assistants to normal human Sec, so items that would make Sec's job easier are great. Here's some ideas:

- VR goggles or some method that lets them update the sec records on the fly is great
- Maybe a signaller to summon beepsky and other sec bots
- A siren and lights to alert people
- A donut dispenser for healing human Sec. Maybe some coffee with chems in it to make Sec run faster.
- Port-a-brig remote so they can assist in transporting crimers
- Maybe ziptie cuffs
- Police tape, chalk, or some kind of marking material for sealing off a crime scene
- A flash light for lighting up areas and interrogations
- A camera and tape recorder for collecting evidence
- An evidence box that a human can load items into by clicking on the borg when it has it in hand. The borg can dump the box out.
- Cigarette lighter and antihol injector for detective

As for modules, I'm thinking maybe they should start with the speed upgrade, so they can drag sec officers around and get them around the station faster.

And while we're on the subject of bringing back borg features, any chance for Replicants to return? With the camera and tape recorder, a replicant sec borg could act as an undercover agent more effectively by trying to make some kind of deal with a traitor and getting incriminating evidence. Maybe even Sec borgs just have an additional hologram projector item that lets them alter their appearance to look human for this purpose.

Also, I forgot to add to the items a toy sword for harmlessly wailing on people. Could maybe appear to sound and act like a real c-saber if the borg is undercover as a Replicant, to gain traitors trust.

Sort of vaguely in the right direction but honestly if we're ever to see them back in any form it needs to be much less than that
  • Handheld siren to wail constantly
  • Shouty megaphone thing to alert humans of how dumb they are
  • Police tape that just applies a sprite to the floor/wall with no other effect, maybe apply it like you would a table!
  • Donut dispenser for emergency fatness
  • A PDA with the Forensics cart, so you can shout jumbled fingerprints over the radio constantly and ticket the Captain for killswitching you

that sort of stuff I think
it really does not need to be effective or even useful, just fun

Instead of a Handheld Siren, try a sound synthesizer with a siren sound, and all of the gun sounds. Scare the living beejuzus of a suspected traitor for shits and giggles!

Borgs should not get to choose the Sec module. It should spawn in the HoS's locker. He has to choose to use it, and must swipe his ID on the borg after it is installed to activate it.

Sec borgs get their own set of laws wiping any laws they currently have and overriding emagged status.
1. "Serve the public trust"
2. "Protect the innocent"
3. "Uphold the law"
4. (Classified)

Emagging a sec borg stuns it, and the traitor can then destroy it or take it to a docking station to remove the module.

The sec module should give a partial set of tools, crowbar, screwdriver, and wirecutters, so it can navigate damaged sections of the station.
It should have a riot launcher equivalent that just drops the smoke at its feet. One use, but it can use it on the riot grenades to reload.
It should have an Auto-9 machine pistol, which when fired just clicks and says it is out of ammo, a little rusty, or "Oh it just shot a bullet! No wait that was a moth."
It should have a securitron transporter that works like the atmospheric transporter the engineering bot has, but for one securitron.
A Ticketing tool is of course a must as is a siren.
Maybe a baton that does a single unit of brute damage so long as the target has high health, plays a massive whack noise, and makes people scream.

I massively agree with this, especially with the law wiping. In fact, I think maybe the module should make a Sec borg immune from law changes entirely. It would be neat to work in the Robocop laws, but they need to be less ambiguous. Then again, if only the HoS can install the module, chances are you won't see bad sec borgs. Maybe even give the HoS the ability to kill switch a Sec Borg immediately from his PDA/Computer.

You're all getting too fucking fancy for your own good in a thread that is literally "Hey remember how Secborg was an utter shit module and terrible idea? Let's put it back in as a joke module" and are all unironically suggesting things that would make it a real/legitimate module again and therefore terrible.

Stop it, fuck.

This a million times over, not every single thing ever suggested needs to be exceedingly complicated and or even useful
Look at the clown's bike horn, absolutely no use except honks and ducks but it's still fun!

It's like when I used to "design" Robot Wars entries as a kid, it went from a little robot with a flipper mechanism to being covered in spikes and flamethrowers and it would explode if you attacked it and the wheels were made out of ice so it could melt and reshape them into treads for different landscapes and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

please just keep it simple for once!

Here's a crazy idea: what if we don't make another module that people won't ever use because it's absolutely worthless? If anyone wants to be a lazy shitborg they just select brobot.

How about we give every borg PDA the ticketmaster program, and add a siren sound to the Brobot's sound synthesizer, and if they want to look like a security officer they find a helmet to put on. Bam presto, you are now a lazy metallic mallcop.

And if you want a non-worthless security module, what the fuck is wrong with you? Play a flesh and blood sec officer instead.
