Reason for application:
When I first wanted to join Goon station, which was about 2022, I wasn't allowed to, the servers denied all VPN connections, and since I lived abroad, I didn't have a traditional fast and legit way to connect to goon station, I've tried a multitude of space station 13 servers, all of the which, were fine, but never did catch my attention, whether it was a toxic fanbase, hard mechanics, or just full blown degeneracy, I never did find the energy in myself to keep playing space station 13, even though I've spent multiple years on the franchise, exploring.
I've made lots of friends, connections, taken inspirations, enjoyed the thorough, engaging but still simple story of the game, and have come to appreciate it as a true cult classic.
In the short time I've been in goon station, I have made lots of memories that I have never made in other communities, everyone was welcoming and eager to teach me back when I was a new bee, just a few weeks ago.
I've gone forward to try and make this application to show my appreciation, even though it's not been 3 months, I already feel like I belong here, and I want to make other new bees belong here too, I have spent a decent amount of time getting familiar with everything, and I do understand that being a head of security involves lots of quick last-minute and sometimes even round altering choices, and i can say with true dedication and belief that I feel confident I can tackle it.
Security experience (300 word minimum):
I've played security on a ton of different servers, mainly about Goob station, I don't find much difference, i find the bits of realism into being an officer the most appealing about the roles, I started out as a security assistant, I found the prospect of de-escalation cool, as well as interacting with my fellow colleagues to keep everyone safe from workplace accidents, or the maniac running around with an automatic shotgun.
Later on i tried the detective, I loved it, I found the Noir movie inspiration brilliant, since it builds up on character development options, and even back stories, this has to be my favourite role, as it also involved more technical actions, such as forensics.
I find the security officer also an okay role to play, although some times the intense standoffs with criminals and the such fall onto you as the main protector of the station, I found it all right, but my favourite thing about the security officer was how menacing they can look at times, as well as how customizable your OC can be.
But what i like most about the security department, not just in Goob station, but almost everywhere in SS13 and 14, is that nothing can be done alone, not as a security officer, it requires team work, and lots, lots of team work too, that's when i decided that security was for me, i've been active ever since, I've learned many things, and most importantly, me and my fellow officers, and everybody else were treated correctly and had fun.
That's what kept me engaged as a security officer.

- What advice would you give to other sec players?
Don't make it about yourself, I'm not saying don't have fun, but remember, people you arrest are humans too, we can all get angry, and security is about dealing with things diligently and in a way that satisfies everybody, you shouldn't be brigging people for long periods of time, rather find a gimmick or action that satisfies both you and the detainee, to summarize it; dont just thing about your gameplay as an officer, think about everyone.
- What was one of your favourite security moments? (Either playing as a sec officer or interacting with one)
The apple incident, was a very, VERY funny moment in security, it was all roleplay, but, basically, have you ever heard of the saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away?" I was playing a normal round, breathed in something bad, cant quite remember what, and got sent to med, i was hungry, so i went to the apple crate next to the cryopods, and ate a few bites, the doctor sprints away full force, screaming his head off, i'm pretty clueless at first, "What's wrong...uhm sir?" I asked, clueless, he calls security, Kira Hunt walks in, along some other officers, i turn around, the doctor is trembling from the other side of some windows "Oh well that can't be good." boasts Kira, i just turn and hold up an apple "Never ate an apple or what?" She turns and stares, saying "I have a doctorate, you heard the saying, right?" i answered "Its just an apple, here, try some, it ain't going to melt a hole in your stomach." She immediately takes a bite and collapses, so naturally me and another doctor grab the whole crate, and start feeding her apples in order to wake her back up, 1,2,3,4,5,6...a lot of apples, she faints, and dies. Very fun experience, really adds to that bit of community appreciation, everybody here is fun, oh and don't worry, everybody lived at the end.
- What game improvements or changes do you think would benefit security players?
- Describe any differences in your playstyle when part of a full security team and when being the only security officer.
- Write a poem to convey your thoughts on security/NanoTrasen/space/bees/anything related to SS13.
- What's a security gimmick that you've ran or wanted to run?
- Draw a picture!
