Reason for application: I've been hooked on this game for (i think) almost a year by now. As I've played through all the jobs I've found myself favoring the more pivotal roles like officer, AI and captain, finding the most fun in these roles and the chaos that you are sometimes on the frontlines of. I believe my experience in leading sec as captain (as much as I could) when there is no HOS alongside my experience as an officer has finally given me the confidence to say i can lead a sec team and toss out my application for the beret.

Security experience (300 word minimum): My first round of secass i walked into mainsec, fresh and ready to learn! I was then handed a pulse rifle and told to shoot wizards. From there I learned sec the hard way, reading whatever i could from the wiki and figuring out the rest by myself while failing many many times. First time i tried to arrest somebody for underage drinking and i stunned myself with my baton, a random guy sitting on a barstool said "turn the stick around dumbass". And that's how i learned almost everything i know.
I've been overly harsh with antags, accidentally shot multiple bystanders as detective, and landed on my face enough times in the past where I can see when somebody is newer to sec from seeing them make the exact same mistakes I've made (hell i feel like just seeing the way people speak I can sometimes tell when somebody's new!)

Once i got a proper grasp of sec and a decent bit of robustness i found myself enjoying those more stressful rounds. When a team of salvagers is attacking the station from all angles, traitors going on a killing spree after rogueing the AI, dealing with a wraith at medical before running to arrest a vamp killing somebody in the kitchen. One of my most memorable rounds was where i was a lone detective, trying to chase a syndi down alongside a vamp while also dealing with everybodys minor issues. I was stuck outside mainsec making a list of everyones issues going "OK, WHAT DO YOU NEED? AND YOU? GOT IT, IVE GOTTA GO." Once that round was over i was the only one sitting in the sec section of the shuttle as sombody linged out outside(probably where the other 2 officers went now that i think about it). Overall one of my top ten rounds ive had.

And present time I find myself able to help and guide others while working/working with sec, and training the occasional wild secass that appears. In conclusion I feel i am a good fit, now i just need to see what a jury of peers decides.

Answer two or more of the following:
  • What advice would you give to other sec players? The obvious ones seen here summarized quickly are: Ask for help, use your radio, remember to have fun and not ruin others. But if i were able to give some OOC knowledge to everybody. Fill your antag selection with red checkmarks. Play antag and have fun with it. Not only will it help you figure out other antags as a secoff, itll give you a new perspective on how to treat antags. Getting executed for stealing the caps ID is NOT fun. Getting your PDA confiscated for being a spief? Now your whole antag shtick is kind of ruined and your a hardmode traitor. With enough experience on both sides of the spectrum you can find a good midground on catching and punishing antags
  • What was one of your favorite security moments? (Either playing as a sec officer or interacting with one) I cant really nail down any specific rounds but sometimes when your in an extended round and bored you end up chilling in mainsec swapping stories with other secoffs. I remember an HOS was telling me about how they had to use flame rounds to deal with a monkey outbreak at one point, I told them about an overly stressful gang round i had and we relaxed till sombody radiod in a crime. Sometimes a chill round isnt too boring depending on the team you have
  • What game improvements or changes do you think would benefit security players?
  • Describe any differences in your playstyle when part of a full security team and when being the only security officer. If i somehow end up alone on sec, ill try to cover as much ground while keeping a sort of "triage" mentality. Push aside the guy in syndi attire chilling in the bar to deal with sombody screaming for help somewhere in north maints. Also using any extra help i can, like the AI or somtimes captain. When sec is staffed ill try to find a crime and treat it like its my case, focusing in on figuring out, deviating from it to either work on a bigger one, catch sombody or help sombody out.
Answer one or more of the following fun questions (because it's important for the HoS to be fun):
  • Write a poem to convey your thoughts on security/NanoTrasen/space/bees/anything related to SS13.
  • What's a security gimmick that you've ran or wanted to run? Ive had fun turning into a monkey then proceeding to fly through the mail chutes to a sec alert, popping out and yelling "FREEZE" waving an overly sized taser SMG.
  • Draw a picture!  I had a vision, and decided to throw it together in like 20 minutes, excuse the crudeness and please get the refrence! https://imgur.com/a/iywUCb4
Previous bans (while this will not affect your application lying about it will): No bans as far as i know, if memory serves i think ive gotten quite a few admin PMs with varying levels of annoyance and anger, though none recent. (Ive learned my lessons!)
