i remember them looking like pretty generic riot cop / sci fi space soldier guys. blue/grey, big torso armor that made them look a bit buff. nothing special

They looked like this, I guess. This is "TURDS" in critter.dmi, so I guess they're an admin gimmick mob?

No the TURDS were a elite form of Security. The worst players would always play them and they got removed. That's the gest.
