Is there a hard-set character limit? I don't wanna be obnoxious. I guess, to rephrase... about how many characters IS that, do ya think? About 40-45? RE: A little Question and Answer Thread. - NateTheSquid - 09-10-2017 i'd say 40 is too many. maybe around 30-35 or less, imo RE: A little Question and Answer Thread. - warcrimes - 09-10-2017 Personally I like to look at the name length and content as "Is this marketable?" Could some company say "here's the name of our newest bottom-shelf Artificial Intelligence series" and reasonably expect some megacorp to buy it? alternatively, could some engineer say "Here boss here's the new AI you asked for" and not have it immediately forgotten? In other words I tend to steer toward a shorter name with a good mouthfeel rather than a more verbose name. Thanks. I know this is a pretty fiddly question but I'd rather bug people here than actually type something in, in a round, and end up being obnoxious by accident. RE: A little Question and Answer Thread. - warcrimes - 09-10-2017 That said, literarilly relevant names are always super cool, but are obviously gonna be a total miss on anyone who doesn't get it. RE: A little Question and Answer Thread. - Roomba - 09-10-2017 From what I recall the limit is about 30-35 characters which is maybe about a line and a half long depending on your screen size. You should be fine length-wise even if you max it out. RE: A little Question and Answer Thread. - Vitatroll - 09-10-2017 Four alphanumeric characters.
