Ah, forgive me then, haven't really played chemist in quite a while, unless you are talking about just smoke + syringe stuff, but that's just not nearly what I'm talkin about.

Yes this sounds great. If this is really implemented, maybe the Vice Officer could make a return.

Just be a security officer and put on the vice suit. Goddamn, we don't need to flood the jobs list and make it so that one persons reason for living is to camp in botany all round.

In the name of making chemistry more dangerous, it should be possible to make space meth, complete with toxic gas making the room uninhabitable. Mostly because I could easily see crewmen blowing themselves up just to be a drug dealer.

When you click isolate 'xxxxx', make the chemmaster dispense a container(test tube, beaker, whatever) of 'xxxxx'. Remove 'xxxxx' from the inserted beaker, but leave all other reagents.


Reagent that multiplies existing liquids - backifran - 12-01-2012

Quite a few liquids are in (rightfully) short supply, but it would be great if there was a way of making more of 'unique' reagents.

It shouldn't be easy so the 'ingredients' should be something along the lines of strange reagent or suicider, requiring access/cooperation from multiple departments.

It could work the following way, mixing:-

Compost from botany
Milk from the chef
Holy water from the chaplain (or wine from barman)
Radium from chemistry

Mix the four together and you get "Creatonium", add any other reagent and it automatically fill the container with 50 units of it. For example if you added Swedium, you would get 50 units of that.

Although it might not have many practical applications to non-traitors, could be used to make funky ice cream or cakes or whatever. It can be a pain just getting 10 units of swedium or bilf (for example) together to make an interesting cake, so this might help a bit.

I have a decent suggestion. Ammonium nitrogen tri-iodide crystals - it's an explosive compound which uh, due to it's incredible instability, can't be used in mass because it'll detonate under its own weight. It's also unstable enough that being knocked even slightly will cause them to explode, so it'd be interesting to use them like this: put them on the floor when they're wet (they dry out over time), and in 10-30 seconds, the dry out, making them explosive. First time anything passes over the tile (mob or object), they detonate, damaging whatever entered the tile, and whatever is on it. The tile itself would also be uh, reduced to a 'damaged' state. If there is too much of the shit in a beaker, then they explode in the beaker under their own weight, shattering the beaker and damaging whoever is holding it.

Pretty straight forward to produce - if an iodine equivalent is added to ss13, then just produce iodine crystals, soak in ammonia, and bam you've got the wet shit. Dangerous enough to make it an undesirable chemical to carry around or produce for your average chemist, but not so dangerous as to make it overpowered or anywhere near as annoying as space lube.

Naturally, you'd want to store 'em alongside water if you wanted them to uh, remain inert. As a result, water+crystal spray would uh, be pretty effective in a spray bottle, since it seems to be pretty difficult to spray enough water to wet the floor.

Your idea uh, seems pretty uh, decent but kinda uh, like some other explosive uh, that got removed called Sorium. UH.

Woah! Brilliant idea here! You should be able to emag the chem master to dispense more "deadly" chems. Just an idea, but I think it would work, for example, if you emagged the machine, it could dispense poly acid (premade), toxins, sleep toxin, etc.

That'd definitely be a huge help to the chemists, and wouldn't be overpowered since most chemists can prepare poly acid themselves, and they can just thermite into medbay for the other stuff.

Ya, Chemistry is totally nerfed. You can only make like 3 vats of Poly Acid Smoke in about 10 minutes.

right but poly acid smoke does exactly jack shit so i am not entirely sure what you are getting at here
