Re: Blood System Feedback - Houka - 12-11-2014

Limb cauterizing code is from an old change where people would slowly bleed to death, racking up brute damage, if they didn't get their limb cauterized right after it was removed. It was the bane of all miners and victims of bombs. This was around the time limbs were changed to make the recipient get strangled, slapped and punched if they had someone else's arms on.

You probably already know that, though. Still, I was there when that change happened. It was awful. frown

It was possible to cauterize maiming wounds by standing in a plasma fire, if I recall correctly. (Or just being set on fire.) If this is not a thing now, I want it to go back to being a thing for bleeding wounds.

For a rather silly flavor suggestion, give medbay a box of cookies they can hand to anyone who donates blood.

Re: Blood System Feedback - UrsulaMejor - 12-12-2014

make sugar reduce the effects of blood loss

Re: Blood System Feedback - Winklabom - 12-15-2014

Add heparine to deny bandaging/suturing.

Re: Blood System Feedback - Haine - 12-16-2014

I do wanna add more blood effects to chems. Iron was one I had tossed my way before as well, seems like a good one, hah.

Quick question because I don't know: Is there any downside to having TOO MUCH blood in one's body? The idea of being able to inject such a ridiculous amount of blood into someone that they explode is, although probably somewhat impractical and hard to balance, really hilarious.

Also, if changeling blood doesn't already carry its effects over to anyone who receives blood from one, it should. It would add another layer of depth to the changeling deception game, a game that is sorely lacking right now, if you ask me.

Also, new changeling power:The changeling swaps the genetic code with someone else.It takes as long as just absorbing them and it acts as a mindswap, lets you control the guy you swapped with and the other guy becomes the changeling that is being hunted(You still keep the powers,it would be as you changed bodies)

I been a big supporter to having this come back. When I first started playing this was in. And as a noob I would go out mining as a miner and blow a limb off, blood spewing out, screaming for help, dragging myself through the hall trying to get help. And then being taught I could close my own wound using a lit welding tool.

Speaking of cauterizing wounds, if you de-limb someone with a C-Saber they should be automaticly cauterized if this gets added back in (You are pretty much using a blade of super heated plasma energy to cut off someones limbs, it makes sense to have it cauterized automaticly.) Alternatively you should be able to use the C-saber to cauterize your own wounds if you need to. With some 'accidental' possibility you could de-limb yourself.

i love the bleedin system its real cool

Re: Blood System Feedback - hipBEE - 12-26-2014

some things are causing bleeding that probably shouldn't. notably the tranq gun. because you bleed out all the tranquilizers pretty quickly

This should've been fixed a little bit ago, when was the last time you had this issue?

Re: Blood System Feedback - Winklabom - 03-07-2015

Is it possible to have internal bleeding be an actual thing?

Like, if something or someone hits you hard enough you start vomiting blood until somebody puts you on a surgery table, opens your chest with a scalpel, and then uses a suture ?

Of course, this should only happen if get caught in a powerful blast or someone bashes your grains in with a blunt object of sorts.
