We need brainvats, like now. and it should be used as an alt version of the borg head. Nuff said

I was thinking about it, and maybe brain borgs could be like this:

Have it so brainvats can just be stuck on headless borg bodies. Once on, they take full control of the body, but can just as easily be removed. Brainbots could connect and disconnect from borg bodies at will.

Otherwise, have a brainborg skin be an achievement award.

Bumping this because it's too awesome to let fade away.

I prefer the idea of Brainbots being little Bots like Beepsky's and Gunbuddies.

No yeah. The Brainbots would still be that. But people were talking about Brainborgs and why bother with them. I think it would kinda neat if the Brainbots could just drive up and pop inside a headless borg body and control it. Like Krang from TMNT.

Not a brain thing but..

BakerBuddy: Robot parts + spatula/roller pin

Needs to be stocked with flour, makes bread. when imaged it shoots stale bread.

Also it might be cool if the brain jars could "influence" other buddies, maybe via an upgrade, but only in a way that would follow ai laws (e.g securitron can't stuncuff anyone not set to arrest)

It could work in the way that defibs can't defib someone who isn't having a heart attack. Scans their ID for arrest status and visible equipment for contraband.

Or brainbots could be locked out of securitrons unless emagged.

being able to command medibots and floorbots and things would be neat.

QQ
The suggestions above would all be nice additions to the brainbot thing after the base concept is rolled out.

That is in a nutshell:

Quote:Brainbot: Vat + Brain.
Brainbot cannot move but can be picked up. Can speak and talk on the radio. Can access stuff remotely like a cyborg, concerning doors depending on ID swiped. Can be smashed if thrown against something, ejecting the brain. Doesn't require any tools to activate, literally shove a brain in a vat, r-click --> activate. A hat can be put on the brainbot.
Quote:Brain-buddy: Brainbot+arm+threads
Brainbuddy has all the pros/cons of the brainbot, only that it cannot be picked up. It can move around and pick up an object with it's robotic hand, with the pro that it cannot be disarmed (note that this pro is balanced due to the fact that the vat can be broken very easily, they have less hp than beepsky) Hitting a brainbuddy with a wrench twice will remove the arm and threads respectively, demoting the poor bastard back to a brainbot.

Those are the base concepts. The addition of brains to critters/mobs and everything else is something that can be looked at later, but personally if the above was added I think that would be Kickin' Rad (Oldschool)

Maybe a bit too ambitious, but what if we could make Brain-Powered Death Tanks ala Psychonauts? Maybe keep it as a traitor item, but once a brain is installed the only directives are OBEY THE CREATOR and DESTROY. Brain Tanks can't carry items or operate terminals/computers/etc, but they can fire Brain-Powered Death Beams and roll around like a slower rover.

Making Bioshock-esque Handymen would be pretty cool too. Abomination-strength creations who only speak in screams and roars?

Dumb. Stick with the brain cases, and arm those if you really feel the need.

Brains in all the things.
Airlock + brain = a cruel fate of controlling a single door
Brain + Basketball = a living basketball
Brain + Brain = dual personality

The AI's ultimate revenge.

That'd be the cruel and incredible on a large population round.

Re: More roboticist constructions (brains+things=weird thing - Crumplehat - 01-12-2015

Brainbuddy sprite can just be a guardbuddy with a brain jar on its head instead of a hat.
