Sundance you are a god for making that. Now let's hope it makes it into the game.

Embolism Wrote:Currently the Medical Director is not particularly fleshed out as a Head job, for a few reasons.

1. The MD doesn't have a "Head" PDA cartridge. The Captain, HoP and CE have Easy Record Deluxe, the RD has the unique SciMaster, but the MD just has the boring old Med-U.

Maybe give the MD's PDA a Medibot program like the Securitron program officers have. One that allows him to call a Medibot to a given location. It would be very limited in its usefulness, but sometimes you can't be bothered to walk somewhere when you can send a barely sentient robot instead.

Why don't all the doctors have this. We can't rely on the medibots for everything but they are useful when we have no other choice.

Besides doctors are still useful for solving specific problems, like space madness and brain damage, or being shot and needing the bullet removed.

Re: Fleshing Out the Medical Director - Embolism - 09-02-2013

Medibots are rather useless at the moment as they still inject drugs that should be topical, which makes them do very little for Brute or Burn damage.

Oh and the RD still has access to both the research and medical channels.

Re: Fleshing Out the Medical Director - Captain_Bravo - 09-02-2013

Give the Medical Director a spray bottle. This gives the RD and MD a bit more of an antagonist situation, since one has access to chemistry and the other has a great way to easily apply chemistry. Plus, it can be used for quick treatment of brute and burn by filling it with the topical chems. Maybe even give it a Red Cross to make it distinctive.

rather than emag it the md should be able to have his own traitor version he can buy that does that

maybe it could even come with special tools like an improved circular saw and scalpel that instantly chopped off body parts if the person was on a table

Re: Fleshing Out the Medical Director - Embolism - 09-03-2013

The Bone Saw: instant limb removal.

Embolism Wrote:The Bone Saw: instant limb removal.

That would be cool, but the saw kinda does that already. Realistically you HAVE to remove the flesh around it. Or else the bone would stick with your body like gum under a shoe.

Re: Fleshing Out the Medical Director - Embolism - 09-03-2013

It's a space Bone Saw.

Re: Fleshing Out the Medical Director - atomic1fire - 09-03-2013

I think a laser saw that instantly cauterizes the limb as it removes it would be kind of awesome, but it's probably a dumb idea.

also I think you need a scalpal to remove limbs as well.

Re: Fleshing Out the Medical Director - Embolism - 09-07-2013

Anyways. I think giving the Med Director the Port-A-Medbay Remote and possibly a new portable surgical table would be nice, on top of giving it the SciMaster PDA cart and removing the RD's access to Medbay/Robotics/Genetics and the Medical Channel.

Having a custom jumpsuit would be nice.

Oh and the RD's access to Medibot chemical stores should be transferred to the MD too.

The MD does not have any optional Nanotrasen crew objectives yet. What's this all about?

I don't think the RD has any either, or a number of other jobs.

Re: Fleshing Out the Medical Director - Embolism - 09-08-2013

Another polish issue:

The MD doesn't start with his first paycheck in cash in his pocket, he gets a pen instead.
