Hello dear players!
As many of you are aware, goonstation originates from the venerable halls of comedy (lmao as if) that are the Something Awful forums, which is where the LLJK moniker came from. It's some dumb meme name used to identify goons to each other from the days of yore. However, as time has progressed, we here at Goonstation have grown more and more distant from our SA roots, to the point where we think the majority of staff (and indeed our playerbase) aren't even on the site. As a result, we have decided to drop the LLJK from all usage and will instead just be calling ourselves "Goonstation". This means, for example, we will appear in the byond hub as "Goonstation #2" instead of "LLJK US 2".
For the average player, this wont have much, if any, effect on you. Your game window title will slightly change and some other minor usages like in the spacebee irc bot. That being said, to avoid confusion for players who join exclusively via the byond hub and might be worried that Goonstation has disappeared suddenly, we are giving everyone a weeks notice (starting today) of the name change. Additionally, after the week is up and the name is changed, we will leave a little "Previously LLJK" notifier in the byond hub text. We hope this will be sufficient to guide all players to us during this EXTREME UPHEAVAL (lol).
