Game Mode: Heist
#1
Summary: The Syndicate have sent you, the ops, to steal from Nanotrasen rather than blow up the station; that said, use as much force as you'd like to get the job done. Dump everything you steal in the Reclaimer. The Shuttle will arrive during this mode.

Antags: 1-5
Spawning: Syndicate Shuttle, minus the bomb. It is replaced by the portable Syndicate Reclaimer.

Winning Conditions:
- if the Syndicates Die: the Crew wins!
- if the Shuttle arrives and departs and lands: the Syndicate wins! Calling the shuttle is bad.
- if the Syndicate masses over 2.5 million credits in stolen items: the Syndicate wins!

Because it's the Syndicate, there are some items that command way, way more than the average item should.

- The Disk: easily the best item to grab, for it commands a hefty 1 million easy. That's the one to go for.
- The AI: 500,000 for this guy, if he's still alive... 100,000 dead.
- The Captain's Antique Laser Pistol: If you can get it, it's 250,000 credits. Doesn't matter if it's working.
- The Captain's ID: any gold IDs fetch an easy 200,000 in credits
- HOS's ID: as long as it still has Armory access this bad boy will net you 150,000 credits
- Jones the Cat, Heisenbee, Remy, etc.: Demoralizing the crew is awesome! 125,000 each for the Head's pets
- HOS's uniform and hat: 100,000
- The RCD and ABCU: 50,000 each.
- The Pinpointer: 25,000 for just this.
- any ID that has ID Computer access: 15,000 credits.
- The Captain's uniform, armor, space suit, and hat: 10,000. Each.
- Special Head only Uniforms: 5000 credits for each one.
- Beepsky's Journal, hat, jacket, album etc.: 2500 for each one.

Additional ideas: drain the station budget, order a bunch of junk at QM, steal all of the miner's ore, take anything not nailed down, avoid the station entirely and go out into the debris field like a scumlord.

There's already two game modes built around 'steal things' (spy thief and flockdrones eventually).

Also, no to any mode that can be trivially won without ever having to interact with anyone else.

We had a heist idea that was basically oceans 13 except with neutered nukeops and a beefed up armory.

I feel like something like this would be a cool idea, except maybe making stuff balance a bit more, and maybe making highly used objects like the port-a-nanomed, port-a-sci, and other important stuff to the overall crew high paying if stolen, however maybe putting a minimum player cap might make this work better as well

I'd rather see Heist either be a telescience thing or a mini event that could occur randomly on a place like Destiny. Like some dudes are spawned, told to steal a thing and have it on them when they escape.

OR what if instead of a full on crew involved deal, what if it was a telescience map where the crew would be able to steal some cool swag if they could get passed some armed guards and disable some puzzles. One with one or three solutions so that someone could just brute force their way through, or ninja or hack through it.

That said if an admin wants to host a heist they'll just spawn the syndicates themselves and tell them what to steal.

Otherwise you could just add a team traitor mode of some sort (assuming spy doesn't count)

I just don't see the point in full on heist mode unless it's designed to be noncombative in nature, like have player controlled drones that carry sleepy darts and holographic disguises and one mastermind who watches over the station and coms like an AI.

I'd assume the antags in a heist gamemode would have to be well equipped tool wise for breaking into places but severely lacking firepower wise to prevent them from just steamrolling the crew. So something like a team spy-thief mode with the rewards pool limited to tools and stealth equipment and the random worthless items removed from the bounty list, so they have to get their hands dirty to win.

You know styling this kinda like payday 2 might work out. 4 Syndicate operatives, each one with a different clown mask (That work as breath masks) can pick to go silent with light armor that can change it's appearance on the fly but doesn't really defend you from much expect space, or can go in heavy armor'd and loud
