A question about luminol
#1
So the other day I rolled detective and discovered a item in my office. A bottle of a chemical I have no knowledge of called luminol. It highlights blood that was been cleaned with space cleaner and allows it to be scanned like any other blood. The question is this somehow make able or was it removed and the bottle is a relic from a distant era. If it was removed does anyone know why? This chem seems so useful I don't see why it would be removed.

I swear it was on the chem page on the wiki? It isn't now. It should definitely be makeable or at least more common, I love when a detective actually does detective stuff (instead of just shooting people, i ever tell you that time a detective shot me, the clown, with stun rounds just to fart on me? i shot him back, just not with stun rounds :p)

Luminous has never had a recipe.

I'm not sure if it even works now.

It works, I used it on some cleaned blood and it made it reppear so it seems like it's working

It seems the only other way to find it is little danny's snack cakes

Code:
var/i = 3
        while(i-- > 0)
            reagents.add_reagent(pick("beff","sugar","eggnog","chocolate","vanilla","cleaner","luminol","poo","urine","nicotine","weedkiller","venom","jenkem","ethanol","ectoplasm"), 5)

Didn't luminol light up tiles it was put on? It was removed because that capability apparently caused a lot of lag or something like that.

That sounds like lumen. I know lumen got dropped with tobbalights. A shame - it was one of the cooler reagents in theory.

In practice it only ever made a short flash of light for me.

Why was porting lumen over to tobba lights so difficult anyway?

It doesn't seem like it'd be that bad.

was lumen the one that made light on a tile? and then there was that one that made darkness? yeah lag was defs the reason.

it sounds like a cool chem whose use and manufacture for investigations should be encouraged

Yeah, lumen was the one that made lights and was disabled, luminol has always been unmakeable (though I don't think there would be too many objections if a recipe for it was created).

Janitor raises her mop

Oh wait, that's a shotgun...

Well, as long as you can re-remove blood with space cleaner it's all good.

Luminol disappears after a minute or whatever. It doesn't need re-cleaning.
