Anyone here got wind of this?
Seems like a new view of SS13.

The way they describe their goals makes me really want this SS13 remake above all others. Here is hoping they can get the funding! (go throw money at them)

Looks cool, but I feel that this direction they're taking will make the game really super cereal and I know everyone on goonstation treats RP like it's the most horrible thing you can do in SS13.

I can guarantee there won't be any clowns on Centration, that's for sure. Say goodbye to your owlrey and deep-fried everything. No fun, just everyone playing the game like they're supposed to.
As a
role-playing game.

Well, I've been reading up on it, and if it ever gets developed, i will definitely playing it. However, I do not believe it is a SS13 remake. " Centration is 3D, first person, focused on a dark, grimy survival-horror theme, with lots of features that SS13 could never have. "Also, i wouldn't really put it in with all the other "remakes", because these are the guys that CREATED SS13 all those years ago. Which gives me hope this game will surpass all other SS13 remake attempts and actually make it.

They do talk about being able to host modded servers with whatever t he hell you want. So i am sure there will be clowns and space geese, along with some less super cereal things.

Fuck yeah, this looks awesome. I think having a goon-hosted server of this game with a nice mix of gritty horror and classic SS13 shenanigans will be fukken sweet.

Were these the guys that kept being pestered about this being an ss13 remake and came out to say it was not?

If crouching is a part of the game you know full well someone will use it as a fart animation, if not then teabagging will likely be used as a thing on several servers.

Crouching? I have it in mind that they have a whole cover system from the looks of the concept art.
What I'm most interested in is jumping. No more being blocked off from an area because some asshole clogged the hallway with autolathes or put reinforced tables in the escape airlocks.

The possibilities of making this 3D are crazy! Heck, i think my favorite part will be as a traitorous role, sneaking up on someone. You cant do that in SS13. You cant come up behind some poor unknowing head and clobber them with a toolbox. They always know you are there.

I think a 3d ss13 game would be really neat if people stuck to the script and didn't act like they just discovered grabbing and throwing items in black mesa/half life.

I don't think that will ever happen with anything even remotely related to SS13.

The closest thing I can think of to a ss13 in 3d is that nasa moon base, and I have yet to see anyone take that game seriously, it's mostly just people saying dumb things with text to speech enabled.
I think there is the potential for hard/soft roleplay, but with anything remotely close to a first/third person shooter you are always going to have the possibility someone treats it like counterstrike in space or decides to abuse mechanics like gravity to turn things into a deathtrap, like for example shooting out windows to watch people fly out, which while it would be hilarious to watch on youtube or read about in a ban thread, wouldn't when you are trying to commit to the science of overfeeding someone discount dans awful tasting ramen or whatever.
