I've given up on using Smoke for AOE Chembombs now That its broken, Instead using foam+Ice at just below the melting point in my beaker bombs.

For some reason, it works if it's triggered while on the floor by being heated with a candle/lighter/welder on the same tile

Hey hey this still isn't fixed, at least for stabilized smoke. Set off 25u of smoke powder carrying sarin/cyanide/bo jack's with 4 monkeys in the room and not a single one got hit, even ones standing right next to the beaker.

Bumping because this still isn't working, what the hell.

Also on a tangentially related note, foam is also probably bugged and not spreading its ingredients properly, but I have no idea whether that's actually an issue or intended.
