Just a thought "inspired" by Dr Zoidcrab's post.
Occasionally, a round should have a limited-permadeath mode, where most of the common ways to remove someone from the rest of the round are disabled in some manner. For instance, gibbing someone would always leave behind a brain, even with firegibbing (You sift through the ashes and a brain pops out!). Crushed brains would shoot out of the crusher, unharmed. Mashed brains would still count as an intact brain, but have lots of brain damage on revival. Eaten brains would make you eventually cough up an intact version of that brain. Otherwise, dead people would instantly be scanned into the cloner no matter where they were.
That oughta be an interesting time.
